This rare and charming map is steel engraved and hand-colored. Nice feauture are the lovely map borders and the very decorative vignette views of Vesuvius, London, Gibraltar, Constantinople, the Pyramids at Giza, Niagara Falls and Pont Neuf in Paris. The map is drawn and engraved by J. Rapkin. The vignettes are by H. Warren and J. Rogers. This rare map was originally published in John Tallis's Illustrated Atlas. Item is printed by the London printing and publishing Company in c. 1851 and is a true antique. Total / leaf size is aprx. 27,5 x 36 cm (10.8 x 14.0 inches). Condition of the print is good (= the map has some small signs of age/wear - the thick paper is fully intact -in good overall condition). Verso is blank. Issued with a centrefold.
